WHONIX is a member of Nominet and as such we have a number of responsibilities concerning the sale, registration, renewal and ongoing management of .uk domain names. Our aim is to provide clients with an efficient and professional domain registration and management.
This section is provided to communicate these details to our clients and also explain how we can be contacted in connection with any aspect of your domain name.
Our key responsibilities and the supporting information for such to be found in this section can be summarised as follows:
These Terms and Conditions set forth the Registration Agreement between you and WHONIX a Kent based Company with a UK Domicile.
In this Agreement WHONIX shall be referred to as "WHONIX", "we", "us", "our" and you shall be referred to as "The Client", "you" or "your".
Domain names are registered for fixed periods that are subject to renewal.
When a client submits a request to register or renew any .uk (excluding .gov.uk & ac.uk) domain name with WHONIX they will be entering into two contracts - one contract with WHONIX and one contract with the .uk domain registry - Nominet UK.
WHONIX will act as the clients' agent by submitting the domain registration application to Nominet, and as part of this application, the client will automatically be entering into a direct contract between the themselves and Nominet UK. This is a separate contract which may be found here:
WHONIX will make the client aware that part of Nominet's terms and conditions includes the clients' consent to Nominet using the clients' personal data that has been submitted as part of the Domain Registration requirements. In particular, subject to Nominet's own Registration criteria, the clients' name and address may be published as part of Nominet's Whois look-up service.
All .uk domain registrations and subsequent renewals are typically for a 2 (two) year period.
We will inform our clients, via e-mail or telephone, of the renewal date 30 (thirty) days before expiration.
At this point the client can choose whether they wish renew their domain or let it lapse.
Confirmation of the decision should be made either by email or in writing (details available in our “Contacting us” page on the left-hand tab of this page).
Clients can still renew a lapsed domain name up to 90 days after expiration date. After this period the domain will be deleted and become available for registration by any party.
To avoid loss of a domain name we recommend renewal requests are made well in advance of the expiry date.
